Core Material

Core construction is the use of a low density core material sandwiched between two thin strong faces (such as carbon fibre or fiberglass) With the result being an incredibly strong, stiff, lightweight structure.

The sandwich construction acts in the same way as a continuous I beam, with the 2 outer skins taking the bending stresses, while the core carrys the shear and compressive loads.
